Accessibility

Last updated:

1. Commitment

RCTK wants everyone to be able to read and use rctk.com (the “Site”), including people who rely on assistive technology. The Site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and I treat anything that falls short of that standard as a bug to fix.

2. What is in place

  • A skip link on every page that jumps past the navigation to the main content
  • Form fields with visible labels, and error messages that are announced to screen readers
  • Keyboard-operable navigation menus and dialog: focus moves into the contact dialog when it opens and returns to where you were when it closes
  • Reduced motion: the hero animation and the study carousel respect the reduced-motion preference set in your operating system or browser
  • Descriptive alt text on every study figure
  • Semantic headings in a logical order, so you can move through a page section by section

3. Known limitations

  • Long technical tables in the studies need horizontal scrolling on small screens.
  • The interactive demo on the homepage requires JavaScript and a live connection to the demo server. A static sample exchange and the list of scenarios are shown in its place when it cannot load.
  • Chart images carry descriptive alt text but not full data tables. If you need the numbers behind a figure, ask and I will send them.

4. Report a problem

If any part of the Site is hard to use, tell me. Use the contact form, or email privacy@rctk.com if you prefer a written request. It helps to say which page you were on, what went wrong, and which browser or assistive technology you were using.

I reply within one business day.
